Countdown Begins (10 Days)

Ten days from now, we'll be boarding the plane for Cameroon (via Paris).  We're pretty close to ready with the packing.  Everything has been laid out.  We need to apply some mosquito repellent before the final packing.  Through the love and generosity shown by everyone, all of the funds have been covered.

Peg and I have been reading a Bible Study for short-term missions.  One of subtexts, "The easy part is packing your bag.  The challenge is to prepare your heart."

Today's reading was on humility.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.  (Phil 2:3-4)

Even in service to others, we act with haughtiness and exude superiority.  I pray for true humility in actions and thought.  May all glory be to God, whom I serve.

  1. Praying for you, Rick that God will use you to display His love, power, and compassion. Praying for you, Peggy, that God will give you comfort and peace knowing that the only safe place in the world, is in the center of God's will. Praying for Luke and Bella, that God will teach them through your obedience that day by day choosing to follow where He leads is the perfect path for their lives.
I love you all so much!

  2. Kat,
Thank you so much! Your prayers mean the world to us. As I'm sure you know, it's such a hard, unnatural thing to teach the kids that only with God can they truly learn.

At night, we've been singing a song by Philips, Craig, and Dean..."I want to be like You because he wants to be like me..."

    Love you all!
    Rick
